EDWARD STEPHEN RUBLESKY, 75 of Highland Plantation, Maine and formerly of
Marlborough, Massachusetts, passed away on February 10, 2023 in Augusta, Maine at the VA
Togus Medical Center after battling cancer.
Eddie was born on July 2, 1947 in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Eddie was the son of Vito A. and Helen Rublesky of New Hampshire. Eddie was
the brother of his beloved late sister, Palette M. Rublesky. Eddie had a special friend, the love
of his life, Donna Hood and spent approximately 15 years with her until she passed in 2010. He
is also survived by his step-mom, Rachel and his step-daughters, Charlene and Mary.
After graduating from Marlborough Vocational School in 1966, Eddie served in the U.S. Navy
SeaBees as a Construction Mechanic Petty Officer 2nd Class and was a decorated Veteran of the
Vietnam War serving 2 tours with MCB7 from 1967-1970.
He worked for the City of Marlborough DPW for 28 years from 1975 and retired in 2003 to Highland Plantation, Maine.
Eddie will not be forgotten and will always be remembered by his good friends Jeff Ellengood,
Lou Padula and David and Robin Trask along with many loyal friends from Massachusetts as
well at his beloved Harvell Bishop VFW Post 7865 in Madison, Maine where he was a lifetime
member serving many dedicated years as an officer, last serving as Junior Vice Commander.
Eddie helped Lou Padula with all renovations at the VFW including rebuilding the bar, and
many other Post projects. He will be greatly missed by all of the members and bartenders of
the Madison VFW Post 7865. Eddie was a caring and compassionate man to all and was always
willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. Eddie also enjoyed playing cribbage every day with
his long time friends at the Madison VFW.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Eddie on
March 4, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Madison VFW located at 58 Preble Avenue, Madison, Maine.
In lieu of flowers, Eddie requested all contributions in his name be kindly made to the VFW Post 7865.
